“Exploring Scripture Together”
(A two year (20 weekends) course, Starting on 26-28 July 2018)

In May this year we completed the two year course, started by Fr. Tom and Sr. Marita. The evaluation by the participants was very encouraging and we would like to start it again in July.
1.     The course is open to all Catholics of the diocese who have:-
·         An Enthusiasm to grow in the knowledge of Christ through Prayerful reading and study of Scripture
·         Active involvement in parish life and desire to grow deeper in faith
·         A good grasp of English – all lectures etc. are in English
·         Recommendation from  parish Priest, and  relevant authority in the case of Sisters
·         Willingness to attend once a month full weekend (Friday Evening to Sunday afternoon)
·         An eagerness to share with the Parish what they learn and experience in AMPC.

2.     The cost for a week end per person is R640.00.  AMPC
expect each person/Parish to pay a minimum of R380.

3.     Register  by email latest by Tuesday the 3rd of July 2018

4.     Each participant should have the copy of THE AFRICAN BIBLE

·        And such is the force and power of the Word of God that it can serve the Church as her support and vigor, and the children of the Church as strength for their faith, food for the soul, and a pure and lasting fount of spiritual life."109 Hence "access to Sacred Scripture ought to be open wide to the Christian faithful."110 (Catechism of the Catholic Church  (CCC) Article 3; nos 101 to 141)
·        "The Church has always venerated the divine Scriptures as she venerated the Body of the Lord"  (Vatican II Dei Verbum 21): both nourish and govern the whole Christian life.
·        "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps 119:105; cf. Is 50:4)
·        “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ!”  insisted St. Jerome, a father and Doctor of the Catholic Church

“Welcome to the Adventure!  Your discovery of the Bible could be an adventure that lasts your whole lifetime! Sound ridiculous? May be, but there is an incredibly long line of people stretching for thousands of years who would insist it is true”.

THANKS YOU

Fr. James Sebastian svd
